Cheryl Itamura is the Founder and Editor in Chief
of Real Live Theater and a production consultant to companies in the
entertainment industry including Harmony Festival, Inc., Domo Records,
and Extrordinaire Media. After spending 15 years as an Implementation
Consultant working with human resources database systems she turned her
focus toward performing arts production. She has worked on the
production teams of Sonoma Jazz Plus and San Francisco Book Festival;
with the radio and film divisions of Three House Multimedia; and as
script supervisor for Flying Moose Pictures. Her current focus is on
fusing unique informational and inspirational resources to create
portals of communication and making them available to a public yearning
for living, breathing creative experiences. A visionary, Cheryl is
committed to integrating her research and work in production,
multimedia and technology to this end. This San Francisco native also
serves as the Production Manager for 6th Street Playhouse.
Cheryl's recent stage managing projects include: Fred Curchack and Laura Jorgensen's Monkey -Quest to the West; 6th Street Playhouse's production of Death of a Salesman starring Daniel Benzali, and David Mamet's Boston Marriage, both directed by acclaimed director Sheri Lee Miller. She was the Rehearsal Stage Manager for The Grapes of Wrath, and the Stage Manager for Porchlight Theatre's Bay Area Theater Critic's Circle award winning production of Enchanted April, and Cinnabar Theatre's production of Enchanted April all directed by Elizabeth Craven. Other favorite stage managing projects include: The Big Bang and Lobby Hero at the 6th Street Playhouse; Academy DeTurk’s co-production of the musicals Peace and Harmony and The Right Step; the world premiere of former KGO host and San Francisco Chronicle reporter Shann Nix’s musical Alice Underground; the Phantom of the Opera’s longest playing Phantom in his one man show Franc D’Ambrosio’s Broadway; and Salt Farm Butoh’s
raw movement performance piece Blue Scale. She has managed an array of
production, backstage and technical functions for a variety of other organizations, including the Sonoma Ballet Conservatory.
